Spy: Final Animation

Well here's the final version of the Spy animation.
I didn't end up using the character I modeled and rigged because of some freaky stuff happening with the skin weights being influenced by the global control.
I had 2 options: re rig the character and hope the same problem didn't occur, or use a free character rig off the net. I chose the latter, and it turned out pretty good, the Heavy rig from TF2 was pretty fun to use.

I changed the ending a little from the original storyboard when the deadline got too close and I couldn't stop this wierd popping in the sholder control when switching from fk to ik.

3D Pre- vis Storyboard

I made this pre-vis storyboard in maya by recreating the scenes from my hand drawn storyboard as part of my assessment.
The character is a simplified version of the spy character made just for the pre-vis storyboard.

Now that this step is done I'll start modeling and rigging the character and guns.

Spaceman

Spaceman from chris real on Vimeo.

So here's the final version of Spaceman.... I guess I forgot to post it last year.
I was intending on fixing up a few things, but got busy with other projects.
Overall though I'm pretty happy with it for something that took 3 weeks from conception to finished film.
